It would be nice to have your persective about the peering in here. Send me across the article at my mail id to be found at the top of the link and I would be glad to copy and paste it here.

As for the fraudband part, it is a shame in the name of internet access. Though, we are much better than most of the countries around the world; the other third world nations that is.

Well I switched from BSNL to Airtel but i somehow still admit that Airtel service maybe better (well the customer support is good but then i needed it only once so far) their actual service is on the lower side. Bandwidth on last mile seems fine but their peering is screwed to other indian ISPs. Either they need a fatter link to NIXI or they need to ramp up. Like I said i need customer service only once in a lifetime or twice in a lifetime (hell im a telco guy i can make my own splitters and modems if needed)
but make sure that they are at par with the BSNL when it comes to actual usage service. I also know that though govt sectors take time to catch up on a bit newer tech, once they catch up they are much much better and more aggressive. (perhaps there is a shrewd biz in telecom ministry after all)

Forget Airtel, its cousin Hutch is no good either if one speaks of their website design. All Flashy & full of crap. It will take ages to load up & finally when it does, all that the customer would get to see is an idiotic slideshow of the dog, a boy or some other abstract art. Finally, it hits their customers that Hutch's slogan is......Wherever you go, you'll never find any relevant information. :-)

They don't give a shit about us,do they?
Since regulator fixed 256k as the bar, they're barely providing it..
I was wondering about TRAI,isn't it high time to revise the broadband policy,i mean qos,uptime,speeds,latency..
I always wonder why they sit idle and let all the mess loose..
then i answer myself,Its India..
Will there be a revolution ?
I don't think so..

yeah u are right, many broadband isp are full of shit, one example of such isp is igate networks run by a guy who has always learnt to ignore customers calls and hide offline on messengers, mr. bhushan thakkar, who is selling 256k to his suscribers from the pas year. since the year, the service has been good on terms of bandwidth but sub-standard in terms of quality, whhen i say sub-standard, i mean full fo downtimes and a customer support who has only learned to lie and not answer calls.

since the past 3 months, his idea fo 256k is like providing his suscribers a download speed fo 8k instead of 32k which would be a 256k account, the reason for beeing capped, u are downloading more then 15gb a month so u are capped to 64k bandwidth, where u would get only 8k.

isint this fraud coz the man is still selling his service as unlimited and there are no conditions that apply.

i would honestly like the TRAI to cancel the business license for such isp who loot the masses.

i guess any reading this would agree that IGATE NETWORKS IS A FRAUD ISP.

something about airtel.

they promise half of the advertised speeds and that too from their local servers which are used to measure the download speed of the connection.
