Broadband India: Why no action on speeds?

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

If you market it right, you can market shit. Claim it to be healthy for you and you would have people eating it out of your hands. Dirty analogy apart, ISP’s are getting away with doing just that. When fingered, they pass around the buck and blame the Government for everything. I agree that governmental policies have a big role to play here but distribute bandwidth to a thousand suckers who are hooked on to porn 24×7. Speeds are bound to suffer. Who is to blame here?

There is no one among the people in the responsible positions in the ISP land and asking uncomfortable questions. Just like British Telecom (BT) is doing in UK. I am not great fan of Brits but then they realise the urgency and atleast the is aware of the situation.

I talked to a journo of a “reputed” newspaper and she sounded like a retard. Hat tip: the one who carried out a full page write up in Hindustan Times. With people like these at the helm of affairs and their own prejudiced ideas about when to give a coverage instead of hammering the issue, we are surely at a loss. However, I am keeping my fingers crossed that intelligence should strike her from heavens and she should utter “” with every breath she takes. My wishful thinking.

So that’s about it. We would never ever see light at the end of this long dark tunnel.
