Makemytrip: It sucks! Pooh pooh e commerce.

Tags: ,

The new age of travel portals (and online services) like Makemytrip (which claims to be a “leader” in the space) seems to have dawned on the customers. The extent of reach of was expected to help the “e- commerce”. The was baiting for the “marriage of brick-and-mortar offices” with an online presence.

The PR jackasses have been going on an overdrive. Yet, all this comes to a naught when one is stuck with a non functional gateway, a mess in the online billing services and a customer care staffed with nincompoops of the worst order.

I had ordered for a flight ticket; the only consideration was that their portal was linked to my banks net banking. Unfortunately, there was an “error” in processing the payments. What followed was some anxious moments as I realized that my money had already been debited to their account.

I sent a flurry of the emails to their service desk without getting a reply. Repeated phone calls only got me ample assurances.

Makemytrip remains one of the worst examples of trying to implement the “e commerce”. I remain circumspect about the kind of the “future” when everything would be connected online.

It’s a friendly warning to the readers to avoid using their services.

I wish I could complain to it’s respective associations.
