I have implemented Word Press Cache; the home page should refresh better. The beauty of Word Press is the extensibility. Although, I have a personal preference for Drupal as Content Management System (CMS), still Word Press Install is the best platform for blogging. The only time taken is to access the different cloud services (Livefyre) and the images hosted from external solution providers.

The only downside is dependence on the external third party sites. I depend on Imgur for image hosting (and most of the images are either from Crunchbase and Wikipedia). I am also planning to install Embedly making it easier to play around with external embedding. Some under the hood changes have been made to Zemanta and it’s a pleasure to see a very active community around the product.

Clean Up of Categories

When I started Broadbandblog, I barely had any idea about “categories” or “tags”. Ever since I started working on Drupal (for another site), I realized the power of content management system (CMS) and tags. Drupal allows an amazing degree of granular control over it’s modules which Word Press lacks.

Nevertheless, the categories needed to be cleaned up; as the content grows over the period of time, you’d see the “category cloud” growing up. For the time being, the best way to navigate the site is either through search  or the tag cloud.

I have also experimented with ‘contextual posts’; I find this plug in to be better in terms of “recommendation”. There are some ways to change it over but it’s impossible to find anything that analyzes the content semantically in the previous posts.

Nevertheless, you’d see some more changes in the RSS feeds (for those who are smart enough to subscribe to them)!
